About TIAC

The Training Institute for Addiction Counselors (TIAC), provides a comprehensive educational program that prepares students for careers in the field of Alcohol and Drug Counseling.

Originally established as CACTI (California Addiction Counselor Training Institute), TIAC has built a reputation for excellence in training and education. TIAC is committed to maintaining the highest standards set by the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC), the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE) and other certifying bodies. TIAC is ideal for anyone in the helping profession seeking additional skills needed to enhance their careers or to become certified in addiction counseling.

With alternating weekend classes, TIAC students can complete the program in half the time it would take for comparable courses at a community college, and at half the cost of a comparable private post-secondary institution. Intended to meet specific training and education requirements, TIAC students completing the program will be prepared to apply for the Certified Alcohol and Drug  Abuse Intern (CAADC Intern) certifications, as well as other certifications.

TIAC is approved for operations by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Office for the Bureau of Private Post-secondary and Vocational Education. TIAC is also approved for Continuing Education Units (CEU's) by CAADAC, CAADE and BBS.

The Training Institute for Addiction Counselors operates as a service of Family Intervention Center & Services, Inc. Family Intervention Center & Services, Inc. is a California Non-Profit Corporation organized and operated pursuant to 501(c)(3) of the Federal Internal Revenue Code.
